Brother's Plea Ignored: Inquest into M One Death
On November twelfth, an inquest into the death of Shafiqul Haidhar, who was killed on the M One motorway in Leicestershire, heard distressing details. Haidhar, with a history of mental health issues, was struck by a lorry after walking into traffic while waiting for vehicle recovery. The inquest is examining the events leading to this fatal incident. Earlier, Haidhars brother, Kaisor Ahmed, had pleaded with Leicestershire Police to send officers to his brothers location after he crashed his car into the central reservation. Despite Ahmeds concerns about his brothers mental health and vulnerability, call handler Chelsea Wood reportedly told him that officers couldnt just stay by the side of the road. Ahmeds earlier calls to the Metropolitan Police also went unanswered, with call handlers admitting they could have asked more questions to better understand his concerns. The inquest continues to explore these critical moments and decisions. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city. Every story. AI powered. Hosted on Acast.
