Badger Sett Covered Up in Littlethorpe | Leicester News

A Littlethorpe community is in uproar after a badger sett was sealed under paving slabs in a field off Oak Road — discovered by a dog walker whose photos sparked outrage. Developer Barratt and David Wilson Homes claims the sett was inactive, citing 28 days of camera and field monitoring. But locals, including nearby resident David Wilson, are furious, questioning accountability as 150-home development plans loom. The Leicestershire and Rutland Badger Group warns trapped badgers could die from starvation or suffocation if entrances remain blocked. Police are investigating, with no arrests yet — and they’re asking anyone with info to contact them at 26 532723.
