Arsonist Sentenced for Horrific Attack on Woman
On November twelfth, a Leicester man, Nicolas Martin, was sentenced to thirty years in prison for a horrific arson attack that left a woman severely injured and her home destroyed. Martin, who had been controlling and abusive towards the victim, poured petrol through her letterbox while she slept, causing her to jump from a first-floor window to escape. The woman suffered broken ankles and a broken vertebra, and her pet cat died in the fire. Martin, who was out on bail for a previous assault, defied court orders and carried out the attack. He was found guilty of attempted murder and assault and was given a lifelong restraining order against the victim. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city.
