A Biblical Response to the Shooting of Charlie Kirk | The Jesus People Podcast Episode 35

In this urgent message, we respond to the Sept 10, 2025 shooting death of Charlie Kirk (31) at Utah Valley University, calling believers to reject vengeance and follow Jesus’ blueprint for moments of persecution. Scripture reminds us our battle isn’t against people but against spiritual darkness (Eph 6:12). From Acts 14:19–22—where Paul is stoned, stands again, and returns to preach—we outline four biblical responses: move in love, reject fear and choose boldness, tell the truth without watering it down, and bless your enemies. Key Highlights: Why people aren’t the enemy: principalities and powers (Eph 6:12) Love as warfare: “Father, forgive them” in practice (Luke 23:34; Matt 5:44) Boldness over fear: perfect love drives out fear (1 Jn 4:18; Acts 4:29–31) Truth without compromise: speak plainly, resist watering it down (2 Tim 4:2; Eph 4:15) Bless, don’t avenge: leave vengeance to God; uproot bitterness (Rom 12:17–21) How persecution fuels revival and why forgiveness frees your soul Scripture References: Ephesians 6:12 • Acts 14:19–22 • Luke 23:34 • Matthew 5:10–12, 5:44 • 1 John 4:18 • Acts 4:29–31 • Romans 12:17–21 • Ephesians 4:15 • 2 Timothy 4:2 If you’re grieving, angry, or afraid, this episode will help you pivot from retaliation to redemption—to love boldly, stand firm, and carry the gospel forward.
