Israel Votes Amidst Iran War Allegations and UN Accusations

On Election Day, October 27, 2026, Israelis vote in a pivotal Knesset election, the first since the October 7th attacks. A US report alleges Prime Minister Netanyahu sought to provoke war with Iran before the vote, a move reportedly blocked by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir. Meanwhile, a UN-commissioned report accuses Israel of genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank, allegations strongly denied by Israel, which calls the report misinformation. The IDF continues operations in disputed territories. In economic news, Israel finalizes an arms deal with Cyprus. We also cover a border security incident and regional military action.
