Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 29, 2026, 08 PM Eastern

Reports indicate a significant development in Syria, where Internal Security Forces claim to have dismantled a Hezbollah cell plotting rocket attacks. In international legal news, the Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint in Vietnam against an Israeli reservist concerning alleged destruction of civilian property during the Gaza war. Antisemitism concerns are highlighted by a new report showing a sharp rise in incidents at British universities, alongside warnings from the Jewish community in the Netherlands about increasing complexities for Jewish residents and tourists. Domestically, opposition leader Yair Lapid responded to Prime Minister Netanyahu's security warnings regarding potential pre-election attacks, urging calm and responsible handling of threats. On the economic front, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is deepening fuel subsidies to prevent a record increase in gas prices.
