Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 28, 2026, 08 PM Eastern

On Sunday, the IDF eliminated Shadi Abu Hasira, head of the “Geneva” money exchange network, in a Gaza City airstrike. The network is identified as having transferred tens of millions of shekels to Hamas' military wing. Meanwhile, reports indicate the U.S. may offer Iran sanctions relief and frozen fund releases in exchange for concrete progress on its nuclear program, as diplomatic talks loom. On the northern front, forces discovered a terror tunnel within a civilian home in southern Lebanon, alongside dismantling significant terrorist infrastructure. The IDF also intercepted a drone carrying weapons near Israel's eastern border. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the UAE, discussing bilateral relations and regional challenges with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the UAE confirming the visit.
