Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 24, 2026, 02 AM Eastern

A new IDF investigation highlights systemic failures in preparedness that led to the fall of the Paga Outpost on October 7th, resulting in casualties and hostage-takings. In security operations, Hamas's finance chief, Muhammad Abu Alwan, was eliminated. Meanwhile, Neriya Leiter remains in critical condition after a West Bank terror attack.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu begins a brief visit to New York for the UN General Assembly, with his speech expected to focus on Iran and his administration's stance. The visit is framed by some as a 'campaign speech' ahead of Israeli elections, amid criticism from NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

In New York, hundreds gathered at the UN to call on world leaders to address the surge in global antisemitism. Positively, the Tekuma region reports a population increase and ongoing reconstruction efforts.
