Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 23, 2026, 04 PM Eastern

On the diplomatic front, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar addressed the UN General Assembly, stating Israel's policy must be based on its own existential interests, not international majority views. This comes as a draft U.S. State Department memo aimed at criticizing European allies for blocking Israeli settlement imports was never released due to lack of White House support. Domestically, the Knesset Elections Committee has disqualified the Joint List and Ra'am parties from the upcoming elections. We also look at reports on potential Israel-Somaliland military cooperation against Houthis, a lawsuit against The New York Times over its war coverage, and the passing of Rabbi Albert Axelrad.
