Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 20, 2026, 09 AM Eastern

Tragedy struck the West Bank with a fatal shooting attack near Neveh Tzuf, claiming the life of Natanel Shakron. The IDF reported thwarting an attempted car-ramming attack nearby and capturing the gunman responsible for the shooting. Meanwhile, Israeli forces conducted strikes in Gaza, eliminating Hamas operatives including the son of a senior official. In response to the escalating violence, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed swift retribution against terrorists and their backers. Globally, Iran's military command issued warnings of sustained strikes against US interests should the US proceed with anticipated actions. Separately, a new report highlights widespread pessimism regarding Israeli-Palestinian coexistence, while diplomatic discussions continue on Gaza recovery efforts. Domestically, challenges have been raised seeking to disqualify Arab political parties and candidates from the upcoming Knesset elections.
