Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - September 13, 2026, 08 AM Eastern

An IDF strike in Gaza City's Tel Al-Hawa neighborhood killed two Palestinians and wounded 13, with the military stating it targeted Hamas terrorists. In domestic news, Israel's PISA test scores have hit an all-time low in reading, math, and science, falling below OECD averages. Meanwhile, sources close to Itamar Ben-Gvir suggest Prime Minister Netanyahu may be planning a broad national government after the election, potentially sidelining his party. Finally, a new book by Tal Schneider explores the role and challenges of women in the IDF, particularly in light of the October 7th events.
