Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - October 5, 2026, 05 PM Eastern

The UAE has classified the flydubai co-pilot's attempted hijacking as a terror act, with Israeli investigators joining the probe into the motive and potential affiliations of the attacker, who cited 'revenge for the genocide in Gaza.' Security leaders in Israel are proposing reinstating administrative detentions for extremist nationalist terrorism in the West Bank, as Hamas continues to rearm and is reportedly planning soldier abductions. President Isaac Herzog is also highlighted for telling US Congress in July 2023 that terror threats were the primary obstacle to Middle East peace. The episode also covers controversial remarks by Rabbi Dov Lando, the Joint List party's election campaign, and uplifting stories of veterans, international visitors, and a former hostage.
