Israel Today: Ongoing War Report - October 1, 2026, 01 PM Eastern

Iran is reportedly intensifying planning for broader military retaliation against potential US strikes, with sources indicating expanded target lists and instructions given to regional proxies. Following an attempted hijacking of a flydubai flight, heroic passengers who overpowered the attacker will be honored, rescue flights are launching for stranded Israelis in Dubai, and Saudi medical teams provided humanitarian aid. However, the incident also fueled a rapid spread of antisemitic conspiracy theories online. In Gaza, disturbing Hamas funeral chants signal an intent to repeat October 7-style attacks.
