Iran Commander Assassinated Amid Regional Tensions

Reports from Iran detail the assassination of a Basij unit commander in Sistan and Baluchestan province, with state media alleging links to Israel and the US. Meanwhile, Houthi attacks in Saudi Arabia highlight gaps in air defenses, prompting discussions on potential Israeli technological assistance. In US policy news, a federal judge has blocked the Trump administration from sanctioning groups working with the International Criminal Court on investigations into alleged Israeli war crimes. Domestically, former Shin Bet director Ronen Bar has voiced criticisms regarding Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the lead-up to the October 7th attacks, as bereaved families push for a state commission of inquiry.
