Colts Sign Kicker Grupe, Giving Him Second Chance

The Indianapolis Colts have signed kicker Blake Grupe to their practice squad, replacing Michael Badgley. Grupe, who was waived by the New Orleans Saints, has a history with Colts special teams coordinator Brian Mason from their time at Notre Dame. Despite Grupes recent struggles with field goals, he has been perfect on extra points this season, making all fifteen of his tries. This reliability on extra points, along with his familiarity with Mason, likely played a significant role in the Colts decision to bring him in. This signing gives Grupe a second chance in the NFL and could serve as an audition for other teams. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network. Every city. Every story.
