Colts' Quarterback Conundrum: Riley Leonard's Playoff Potential

The Indianapolis Colts' impressive 7-2 record, led by quarterback Daniel Jones, has sparked questions about their decision not to acquire a backup quarterback at the recent NFL trade deadline. With their planned backup, Anthony Richardson, injured, rookie Riley Leonard is now Jones's immediate backup. This situation raises concerns about the team's long-term strategy, especially considering their recent aggressive trade for cornerback Sauce Gardner. The Colts' commitment to winning now is evident, but the lack of a veteran backup quarterback highlights the need for depth at every position, particularly at quarterback, given the unpredictable nature of injuries in professional football.
