CJ Allen’s Quiet Start in Indy | Indianapolis Colts News

CJ Allen, the Colts’ promising rookie linebacker, sat out his entire debut against the Ravens despite being dressed and ready — a surprise for fans who saw him as a potential starter. Missed training camp due to injuries slowed his development, but his coach James Bettcher remains confident, praising Allen’s off-field work ethic and belief that reps will unlock his potential. At just 21 and fresh off college, Allen’s adjustment to the NFL’s speed and complexity is expected to take time. While not yet a contributor on game day, the team sees long-term promise in him — though history reminds us second-round picks don’t always deliver immediately.
