We're All Going To The World's Fair (2021) feat. Mary Beth McAndrews

This week we're covering non-binary trans filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun's screen life film, We're All Going To The World's Fair (2021). Along for the ride is Dread Central's Editor-In-Chief - and found footage expert - Mary Beth McAndrews, who praises World's Fair as a great example of a hybrid screen life film. Using interviews and quotes from Schoenbrun's director statement, Trace adds context to this ominous tale of internet celebrity while Mary Beth shares details of her childhood online, which includes catfishing! Plus: debates about what is real online, predatory behavior vs smart teens, Joe's fascination with Lonely Girl 15, Internet memes and creepy pastas, and our multiple interpretations of the film's ambiguous ending Reference: Orla Smith.
