The Girl With All The Gifts (2016) feat. Carolyn Mauricette

Hide your cat and don't say zombie because we're talking Colm McCarthy's 2016 adaptation of M.R.Carey's YA novel, The Girl With All The Gifts. Along for the ride is returning guest Carolyn Mauricette! Anchored by great performances from Glenn Close and newcomer Sennia Nanua, this dystopian "hungries" film is surprisingly complex, especially its dark/happy ending. Plus: celebrating black girls, The Last of Us comparisons, comparisons to the book, and Melanie's young queer love for Ms. Justineau. Questions? Comments? Snark?
