Daily Devo | Darkest Before the Dawn (New Testament in a Year, Luke 17:20-37)
When asked about the coming of God’s kingdom, Jesus explains that it is not something that can be observed outwardly in obvious signs, because the kingdom is already present among them. He then speaks to his disciples about the future revealing of the Son of Man, describing it as sudden, unmistakable, and accompanied by judgment. Jesus encourages perseverance and spiritual awareness, recognizing God’s present work while remaining prepared for Christ’s return.

For Reflection:
- What do you think Jesus meant when he said the kingdom of God is “in your midst”?
- How can you become more aware of God’s present work in your daily life and in the people around you?
- What does it look like to live ready for Christ’s return?
- Prayer: Lord, help me recognize your kingdom "in our midst" and live with a heart eager for your return!
