Donna Adelson GUILTY: Inside the Verdict That Rocked the Markel Murder Case

Donna Adelson GUILTY: Inside the Verdict That Rocked the Markel Murder Case After years of speculation and investigation, Donna Adelson has been found guilty in the murder-for-hire plot that ended the life of Florida State law professor Dan Markel. Prosecutors argued that the Adelson family conspired to eliminate Markel so Donna’s daughter, Wendy, could relocate her children to South Florida. In this segment of Hidden Killers Live with Tony Brueski , defense attorney and podcaster Bob Motta joins to unpack the verdict. What evidence sealed Donna’s fate? How did the jury interpret her courtroom demeanor? And why did her defense strategy collapse in the face of overwhelming circumstantial evidence? From wiretapped conversations to incriminating text messages, the prosecution built a powerful narrative that placed Donna at the center of the conspiracy. The courtroom strategy to dress her as a “sweet grandmother” failed, as her behavior came across to jurors as manipulative rather than sympathetic. This verdict is a milestone in the long-running Markel case, but it may also open the door to further prosecutions. With Donna convicted, all eyes now turn to Wendy and Harvey Adelson. Will they be next?
