Is Heaven a Real Place Jesus Prepared for Me? (John 14:1-14) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Today we sit with Jesus' comforting words in John 14:1-14. He tells His troubled friends that He is preparing a place for them, and that He is the way, the truth, and the life. We talk about how trusting and abiding in Him brings peace and courage when your own season feels uncertain. "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.'" (John 14:6) Questions this episode answers What did Jesus mean when He said He is preparing a place for us? In John 14:2-3 Jesus promises that there are many dwelling places in His Father's house and that He goes to prepare a place for His followers. It is a personal promise of eternal life with Him. He also promises to come again and take us to be with Him. What does 'I am the way, the truth, and the life' mean? Jesus is saying that He is the only path to the Father. He does not just show the way, He is the way. Knowing Him means knowing God, and that is a relationship, not a checklist. How can I keep my heart from being troubled? Jesus tells His disciples to believe in God and believe in Him (John 14:1). Trust is the answer to a troubled heart. When we abide in Him and listen to the Holy Spirit, we find peace even before our circumstances change.
