What Does It Mean to Meditate on God's Word? (Psalm 1) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

As we start our new series in the Psalms, we look at what Psalm 1 says about meditating on God's Word. We ask how Scripture changes us, whether our lives should look different because of it, and how we can be intentional about hearing God's voice more clearly. "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night." (Psalm 1:2) Questions this episode answers What does it mean to meditate on God's Word? Biblical meditation means slowly thinking over Scripture, repeating it, and letting it shape how we live. Psalm 1 describes a person who delights in God's law and thinks on it day and night. It is less about emptying the mind and more about filling it with truth. What is the main message of Psalm 1? Psalm 1 contrasts two paths, the way of the righteous and the way of the wicked. The person rooted in God's Word is like a tree planted by streams of water that bears fruit in its season. The other path is like chaff that the wind blows away. How does reading the Bible change my life? When we spend time in Scripture, God uses it to renew our minds and grow our faith. Over time our choices, priorities, and reactions begin to reflect Him. It sets us apart through relationship, not rules alone.
