How Can I Stop Feeling Anxious About the News? (Psalm 33:20-22) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

War, disease, floods, and droughts fill the headlines, and it is easy to let anxiety take over. Today we look at David's example in Psalm 33 and the hope we have in God's unfailing love. That love gives us a steady place to stand when the news keeps getting worse. "Our soul waits for the LORD; He is our help and our shield." (Psalm 33:20) Questions this episode answers What does the Bible say about anxiety over world events? Psalm 33 reminds us that the Lord's plans stand firm forever while the plans of nations fail (Psalm 33:10-11). Jesus also tells us not to worry, because our Father knows what we need (Matthew 6:25-34). How can Christians respond differently to bad news? We can grieve and pray without being ruled by fear. Our hope rests in God's unfailing love, not in how stable the world looks (Psalm 33:18-22). What does it mean to wait in hope for the Lord? Waiting in hope means trusting God to act in His time while we keep praying and obeying. It is active trust, not passive worry.
