Where Do I Find Peace When Friends Abandon Me? (Psalm 31) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Many of us know the hurt of feeling abandoned by friends. In Psalm 31 David walks through that same pain, and he finds peace in God's presence. Today we talk about how you can have that peace in the middle of hard circumstances. "Be strong and let your heart take courage, All you who hope in the LORD." (Psalm 31:24) Questions this episode answers What does the Bible say about being abandoned by friends? David describes being forgotten and avoided by people close to him (Psalm 31:11-12). Jesus was also deserted by His friends. God sees that pain and does not leave us. How can I have peace when life is hard? David prays, "Into Your hand I commit my spirit" (Psalm 31:5) and "My times are in Your hand" (Psalm 31:15). Peace grows as we hand our circumstances to God and trust His care. Did Jesus quote Psalm 31? Yes. On the cross Jesus prayed, "Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit" (Luke 23:46), echoing Psalm 31:5.
