How Should I Respond When God Rescues Me? (Psalm 18, Part 1) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Psalm 18 is a song King David wrote after God delivered him from his enemies. Today we learn how God steps in when things seem impossible, and how our hearts can respond to His protection. "The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." (Psalm 18:2) Questions this episode answers When did David write Psalm 18? The heading of Psalm 18 says David sang it on the day the Lord delivered him from all his enemies and from Saul. A version of the same song appears in 2 Samuel 22. What does it mean that God is our rock? A rock is steady and safe when everything else is shifting. Calling God our rock means we can build our lives on Him and find shelter in Him. How can I respond to God's protection? Like David, we can respond with love, praise, and trust. Thanking God out loud for the ways He has protected you helps build faith for the future.
