How Do I Stay Encouraged in a Godless Culture? (Psalm 14) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study
Our culture today looks a lot like the picture David paints in Psalm 14. In this episode we talk about how we can be encouraged by the same God who encouraged David, a God who is present and who restores. "The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God." (Psalm 14:2) Questions this episode answers What does Psalm 14 mean by the fool who says there is no God? In the Bible, a fool is not someone who lacks smarts but someone who lives as if God does not matter. David describes a world that has turned away from God. Is Psalm 14 quoted in the New Testament? Yes. Paul draws on Psalm 14 in Romans 3 to show that all people have sinned and need God's grace. That need is met in Jesus. Where can I find hope when culture feels dark? Psalm 14 ends with a longing for God to restore His people. God is still with the righteous, and He has not stopped working to save and restore. Links Gathering with a small group of women to study Scripture is a great way to stay encouraged, and that is what Bible Study Live is all about. Bible Study Live is a small-group Bible study trip with Rachael Groll. Study Scripture where it happened in Rome, or slow down for a contemplative Bible study retreat in Maui.
