How Do I Thank God for Protecting Me From the Enemy? (Psalm 124) | Daily Devotional & Bible Study

Sometimes we forget that the world we live in is not neutral. Without God's help, we are powerless against the enemy of our lives. Today we look at Psalm 124 as a model for praying and thanking God for the ways He steps in for us. "Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 124:8) Questions this episode answers What is Psalm 124 about? Psalm 124 is a song of David that asks what would have happened if the Lord had not been on Israel's side. It describes enemies like a flood and a trap, and it praises God for rescuing His people. It ends by declaring that our help is in the name of the Lord. How can I use Psalm 124 in prayer? Read it slowly and remember specific times God protected or rescued you. Thank Him for each one. Then end where the Psalm ends, by declaring that your help comes from the Lord. Is there really spiritual opposition in the world? Yes. Scripture teaches that we have a real enemy who opposes God's people (1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:12). But God is far greater, and He fights for those who belong to Him.
