Day 40: Genesis 18:16-33 Interceding Before God (2025): Daily Devotional, Bible Study

Day 40: Genesis 18:16-33 Interceding Before God (2025) Daily Devotional, Bible Study When Abraham learns of God’s impending judgment on Sodom, he boldly intercedes, pleading for mercy. His conversation with God isn’t about changing God’s mind, but about revealing God’s heart—one that is both just and merciful. This passage reminds us that intercessory prayer is powerful, not because we can override human choices, but because we align our hearts with God’s will. Ultimately, it points us to Jesus, our ultimate intercessor, who stands before the Father, praying for us even now. If Abraham could stand before God and ask for mercy, how much more confidence can we have in bringing our prayers to the One who gave His life for us?
