Wisdom and Righteousness (Dharma) Lakshmi does not bestow wealth blindly. Her name is derived from the Sanskrit root Laksya, meaning "aim" or "goal". She emphasizes that true prosperity comes from acting in alignment with Dharma(righteousness) and intellect. She rewards diligence, cleanliness, and hard work, while avoiding places associated with laziness and impurity
