Divine judgment, justice, and wrath are interconnected theological concepts that describe how a higher power—most commonly God in Judeo-Christian tradition—evaluates, responds to, and corrects human behavior and moral corruption.

  • Divine Justice: God’s perfect, impartial, and righteous nature that maintains moral order in the universe. It includes both retributive justice (holding wrongdoing accountable) and restorative/protective justice (defending the vulnerable and upholding covenant order).
  • Divine Judgment: The active execution or verdict of divine justice. It is the process by which God assesses human thoughts, words, and deeds—occurring through historical events (such as the Flood or the fall of nations) or in an eschatological (end-times) final judgment.
  • Divine Wrath: The settled, controlled, and righteous emotional response or reaction of a holy character to evil, rebellion, and sin. Unlike impulsive human anger, divine wrath is not a loss of temper, but a necessary opposition to what destroys life and goodness
