chasing the fear meaning

Chasing the fear means actively seeking out situations that terrify or excite you to feel an adrenaline or dopamine rush, or choosing to bravely confront and run toward your fears instead of running away from them.

• The thrill-seeking rush: Much like chasing a high in other contexts, people literalize "chasing fear" by seeking safe thrills—such as watching horror movies, riding roller coasters, or extreme sports—to experience the physiological rush of adrenaline and dopamine.
• The biological cycle: Your sympathetic nervous system triggers a "fight or flight" response when you are scared. When the event ends, the body calms down, releasing a euphoric, excited feeling that some people learn to crave.
• Running toward the challenge: In personal growth or motivational contexts, chasing fear means refusing to let anxiety dictate your choices.
• Taking back control: Instead of letting fear sit in the driver's seat of your life, chasing fear means leaning into discomfort, taking bold risks, and treating fear as a sign that you are pursuing something meaningful
