1359. Giada De Laurentiis Tells All After Dancing With the Stars Elimination PLUS Why She Still Eats Pasta Despite Having Prediabetes
Hey Heal Squad! Fresh off Dancing With the Stars, our friend Giada De Laurentiis is here, and she is talking about EVERYTHING! DWTS, menopause, blood sugar, pasta, olive oil, and so much more! First, Giada takes us behind the scenes of what it really felt like to say yes to Dancing With the Stars. We’re talking about panic attacks, self-doubt, breakdowns, a BROKEN TOE….but ultimately realizing just how resilient she is. Shoutout to her daughter Jade for pushing her to “shake it up” and step out of her comfort zone, because Giada learned a lot about herself….like… what her body is still capable of at 56.Then we get into the health stuff, and Giada gets super candid about menopause, becoming prediabetic, wearing a glucose monitor to figure out how food was affecting her, losing muscle as she got older, and how she’s had to change the way she takes care of herself. And you guys…wait until you hear about her old sugar habit! She also tells us what she eats now, what she’s learned about blood sugar, whether pasta is still on the menu, and why we all need to give ourselves a little more grace as our bodies change. And who knows…we may not have seen the last of Giada on the dance floor. Wait until you hear what she says! Enjoy!
HEALERS & HEAL LINERS
- Doing something that scares you can wake you back up: Giada realized that putting herself in a situation where she was scared, challenged and not immediately good at something helped her build confidence and see her own resilience differently.
- Give your changing body more grace: Menopause taught Giada that our bodies can change quickly as we age and fighting those changes only makes it harder. Pay attention to what your body is telling you, adjust how you nourish and move it, and stop expecting it to respond exactly the way it did 20 years ago.
- Your age may not be the thing holding you back: One of Giada’s biggest realizations from DWTS was that sometimes we decide what we can’t do before we ever try. At 56, she learned that her body was stronger and more resilient than she gave it credit for and that sometimes the biggest limitation is our own fear and self-doubt.
