Lisa D’Amato: Custody Battles, Headlines, and Her Side of the Story

Lisa D’Amato has never been a stranger to the spotlight. From America’s Next Top Model to Celebrity Rehab and Marriage Boot Camp, she’s lived her life on camera — edited, labeled, and judged. But the headlines she faces today are far more personal.Ahead of this interview, Adam’s family (her ex-husband) reached out to me directly, sharing their concerns and providing translated court documents from Portugal. The allegations inside are serious and complicated. I want to be clear: I am not here to be a judge, and I cannot independently verify every detail. But what I can do is acknowledge that this is part of Lisa’s current reality — and give her the space to share her side of the story. In this conversation, Lisa opens up about the custody battle, the accusations, and what it feels like to have her private struggles turned into a public spectacle. She also reflects on her time in reality TV, the way she’s been misunderstood for decades, and what she wants people to know about her now — as a woman, as a mother, and as someone still fighting to be heard.-- --- –VISIT OUR AMAZING SPONSORS!HAPPY MAMMOTHGo to happymammoth.com and use code UNDERSTOOD at checkout for 15% OFFBALANCE OF NATUREGo to balanceofnature.com and use code UNDERSTOOD at checkout for 35% OFF + A FREE Bottle of Fiber and Spice--- --- ---PLEASE LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE, AND GIVE US A 5-STAR REVIEW!: ratethispodcast.com/missunderstood Become a Patreon Member: https://www.patreon.com/c/MissUnderstoodwithRachelUchitelShop Miss Understood Merch https://mumerch.com/Follow Rachel on Instagram! https://www.instagram.com/racheluchitelnyc/?hl=enFollow Rachel on TikTok! https://www.tiktok.com/@itsracheluchitelExecutive Producer: George Carmona Do you have show ideas, media requests or sponsorship opportunities?
