Ultraman Omega episode 3 introduces Rekiness, a kaiju with a design that feels straight out of ancient Chinese carvings. He looks incredible. Pegunos shows up as the actual enemy kaiju this week, and Omega and Rekiness team up against him. On paper, this should be a standout episode… but it ends up quieter and flatter than expected. In this review I talk about why the dub makes the episode feel dry, why Pegunos didn’t add much tension, and how Rekiness ends up being the most interesting part even though he’s barely active. I also share my running theory that Omega arrived on Earth carrying multiple kaiju inside him and how Rekiness’s crest ties into that. Let me know what you thought.
