Unique Ice Conditions at Milan Cortina Olympics

Speed Skating Venue for Milan Cortina Olympics: A Unique Ice ExperienceThe upcoming Milan Cortina Olympics speed skating venue is causing a stir among athletes due to its unusual ice conditions. The temporary stadium, built on a twenty-centimeter layer above concrete, creates a hollow sound reminiscent of skating on a natural lake. Despite initial concerns, the ice is improving daily under the guidance of Canadian ice master Mark Messer.
