Steve Belichick Resigns Amid NC Probe | Global News

Steve Belichick, son of legendary coach Bill Belichick and defensive coordinator at North Carolina, has resigned effective late October after starting a medical leave earlier this preseason. The university’s internal probe found isolated incidents that violated school values — though specifics remain undisclosed — and confirmed no systemic issues. This follows the earlier exit of GM Michael Lombardi, brought in by Bill Belichick, who remains publicly supportive of his program’s integrity. The investigation, launched in late July and including questions about Steve’s conduct and potential unrelated personal matters, is now officially closed, with UNC reaffirming its backing for Bill Belichick and the team as they move forward.
