Slavery Uncovered in Suffolk Barbershop Raid

Police raid a Turkish barbershop in Suffolk, uncovering potential modern slavery and exploitation. A hidden back area revealed squalid living conditions, suggesting at least one person was residing there, possibly against their will. The presence of a brand-new Audi SUV raised suspicions. The raid was part of Operation Machinize, a National Crime Agency initiative targeting money laundering, criminality, and immigration offenses in cash-intensive businesses. The operation has resulted in over two thousand five hundred sites visited, nine hundred twenty-four arrests, and more than two point seven million pounds in seized contraband.
