Post Office hero Bates lands seven-figure Horizon payout

After a decades-long battle, Sir Alan Bates reaches a settlement with the government over the Post Office Horizon scandal, marking a significant milestone in the fight for justice. The settlement, believed to be between four and five million pounds, comes after years of determined campaigning and numerous failed negotiations. The scandal, which saw hundreds of sub-postmasters wrongly accused and prosecuted, resulted in at least thirteen suicides and years of stress for many others. Despite the settlement, the fight for real and lasting change continues as new management takes over at the Post Office and promises new redress schemes. The Daily News Now! — Every city.
