Nigeria School Kidnapping: 50 Children Escape
Over three hundred children abducted from a Catholic school in Nigeria, with at least fifty escaping and reuniting with families. The incident, one of the worst in the countrys history, has prompted widespread concern and led to the closure of forty-seven colleges. The escaped children, aged ten to eighteen, managed to find their way back home, but two hundred fifty-three students and twelve teachers remain held. Pope Leo and the Christian Association of Nigeria have appealed for their immediate release. Niger state has closed all schools to prevent further kidnappings. The Daily News Now! — Every city.
