NFL's New Field Standards: Safer Playing Surfaces

The NFL introduces stricter field standards, with all stadiums needing to meet new requirements by the 2028 season. These standards aim to create a safer, more consistent playing environment. The league will provide a list of approved field types and existing fields have a two-year window to comply. Extensive testing, including the BEAST and STRIKE Impact Tester, ensures fields meet playability and injury reduction benchmarks. The NFL Players Association collaborated on this initiative, emphasizing player feedback and a commitment to player well-being and fair play. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story.
