Mutual Aid: Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Mutual Aid: Neighbors Helping Neighbors explores the rising trend of community-driven support, as seen through the work of Kashish Ali and others. Kashish, a first-generation Pakistani immigrant, has been stocking community fridges in Atlanta and New York, raising funds through Instagram. This grassroots movement, focused on solidarity rather than charity, offers a low-barrier alternative to traditional charities. Fernando and Yoly Nuñez, from Brooklyn, emphasize the importance of mutual aid during crises, with Yoly encouraging others to start their own groups. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story.
