Katseye Receives Death Threats, Racism, Sexism

Katseye, a six-member girl group nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards, revealed theyve been receiving online death threats since their debut. Singer Lara Raj, a US citizen with Tamil Indian heritage, also experienced racist comments and was falsely reported to immigration authorities. The group, including Raj and Manon Bannerman, spoke about the sexist nature of some comments, ranking them on appearance, singing, and dancing skills. Despite online negativity, Katseye had a successful year with their second EP reaching number two on the US album charts and winning Best Performance at the MTV Awards.
