Japan's Soldiers Battle Bear Surge

**Summary:**Japan's Defense Ministry deploys troops to Akita prefecture to combat a surge in bear attacks, with over one hundred injured and twelve killed since April. The soldiers will set traps, transport hunters, and dispose of dead bears, but will not use firearms. The operation begins in Kazuno city, where bears have caused significant damage to an orchard. The increase in bear attacks is attributed to a lack of preventive measures and an aging rural population with fewer hunters. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story. AI-powered.
