Jani Silva: Amazon Defender Amid Threats

Jani Silva, a Colombian environmental activist, has been displaced from her home for eight years due to death threats. She protects the Amazon rainforest from oil and mining exploitation, despite Colombia being the deadliest country for land defenders. Silva, now under constant guard, continues her work with ADISPA, challenging oil operations and documenting environmental damage. Her daughter, Anggie Miramar Silva, also works with ADISPA, and Jani Silva emphasizes the need for more people to join the cause of defending the Amazon. The Daily News Now! — Every city.
