Iran's Team Melli in US for World Cup

Irans national soccer team, ranked 20th globally, will play at least one World Cup match in the U.S., despite geopolitical tensions. Theyll face New Zealand on June 15th, with venues in Seattle or Inglewood. The U.S. team, drawn with Australia, Paraguay, and a European playoff winner, will play in the co-hosted tournament. Irans participation has been challenging due to visa issues and previous diplomatic hurdles, including a silent protest during the last World Cup. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story.
