IndiGo Crisis: Flight Cancellations Strand Thousands

IndiGo, Indias largest airline, faces a major crisis due to flight cancellations, leaving thousands stranded. The issue stems from new crew rest rules, introduced to combat pilot fatigue, which IndiGo failed to adequately prepare for. The situation escalated with over a thousand flights canceled, affecting various travelers, including those attending funerals and students taking exams. The airlines aggressive cost-cutting strategies and rapid expansion may have contributed to this oversight. The crisis has led to a significant drop in IndiGos on-time performance and has drawn criticism from the Airline Pilots Association of India. The long-term impact on IndiGos finances, safety record, and reputation could be substantial. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story. AI-powered. Hosted on Acast.
