China's Massive Naval Show of Force in East Asia

Chinas naval and coast guard presence surges in East Asian waters, with over one hundred vessels observed, marking the largest show of force to date. This escalation coincides with growing tensions between China and its neighbors, following Japanese PMs comments on Taiwan and Taiwans defense spending. The deployment began to escalate after Japans ambassador was summoned by China, with officials suggesting Beijing might be testing regional responses. As of Thursday, over ninety Chinese ships remain in the region, with Taiwan closely monitoring Chinese naval formations. Taiwanese officials assure national security and commit to deterring any actions threatening regional stability. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story. AI-powered. Hosted on Acast.
