Azerbaijani Man Sentenced in Cyprus for Weapons Charge
Orkhan Asadov, an Azerbaijani man, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison by a Cyprus court for conspiracy to commit a crime and weapons possession. Initially accused of planning terrorist attacks against Israelis, the charges were later dropped. Iran denied any involvement, and Asadovs lawyer successfully argued that ethnicity and terrorism were not factors in the case. The trial was held in private, and the sentence includes time already served. The Daily News Now! — Every city. Every story. AI-powered. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
