The Duc d’Orléans: Citizen or Conspirator? with David Montgomery

Was the Duc d'Orléans a citizen prince or the most dangerous conspirator in France? Join Will and David Montgomery, host of The Siècle, to work out who this man actually was. We cover his upbringing and his marriage to the richest heiress in France, the rebuilding of the Palais-Royal, his clashes with Versailles, the conspiracy theories that dogged him in 1789, his death in November 1793, and the strange afterlife of his name through his son, King Louis-Philippe. David has just covered the Revolution of 1830, when Charles X was toppled and Orléans's son took the throne. The Siècle picks up French history in 1814 and is available wherever you get your podcasts. The Grey History Community Help keep Grey History on the air!
